This meant they entered the playoffs as heavy favorites to win the championship and got off to a perfect start against the Miami Heat.

The Celtics won 4-1 in the first round to advance to the conference semifinals as they aim to make history by going all the way to win the Finals.

The franchise has won the most championships in NBA history.

They have 17 titles, tied with the Los Angeles Lakers and well behind the Golden State Warriors who are in third place with seven.

So that means if they win a ring this year they will become the best team ever and they have been waiting a long time to add another one to their collection…

The Boston Celtics’ last NBA championship

The Celtics won their last NBA title in 2008.

They beat the Lakers 4-2 in the Finals with a team featuring icons like Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo.

This victory ended a 22-year wait for glory following their previous Championship victory in 1986.

It’s been another 14 years of waiting since their last ring and in that time, their NBA record has been matched by the Lakers, with their 17th title coming in 2020.

The Celtics reached the final twice in search of their 18th victory but fell short.

Former Carolina Panthers star Devin Funchess shows off his skills by becoming the first NFL player to sign a professional basketball contract.

In 2010, they were beaten in Game 7 by the Lakers before a drought ensued until their next shot.

Over a decade later, in 2022, they reached the Finals again, but lost to Steph Curry and Golden State, losing 4-2.

Last year, they were eliminated by the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, but now they have taken their revenge on them in emphatic fashion.

And they continue to be the hot favorites to win a historic title this time around.
