What’s wrong with Francesca Bridgerton? Is the “Bridgerton” character autistic? Is she asexual?

The Bridgerton Chronicles The first part of season 3 debuted on Netflix yesterday, leaving fans hot, bothered, and obsessed with all things Polin. However, the latest installment of Shondaland’s steamy romance has also inspired some confusion. For example, what happened to Ruby Stokes, the original actress who played Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd)? What exactly is wrong with Francesca? Why is she so quiet and reserved compared to the other loud Bridgertons? Is Francesca autistic? Is Francesca asexual? Who does Francesca marry? Where is Francesca from?? (sigh)

Despite the fact that Netflix was very transparent about Ruby Stokes’ departure The Bridgerton Chronicles star in the ill-fated (and under-watched) film Lockwood & Co., people are still very confused about this attractive character. Which is good, because Julia Quinn fans The Bridgerton Chronicles the novels know very well that it’s sort of a running gag that we don’t know much about Francesca until her book, When he was bad, comes around. Francesca is very different from her siblings and that’s the problem!

Still confused about Francesca Bridgerton? Here’s everything you need to know about the Bridgerton sibling who seemingly came out of nowhere to charm Ton…

What’s wrong with Francesca Bridgerton?

So, yeah, what’s wrong with Francesca Bridgerton? Absolutely nothing! She is simply the rare introvert in a family filled to the brim with extroverts. As she makes clear on several occasions, she would much rather be alone with her piano than be forced to socialize. People like that exist! They just don’t need to be the center of attention.

Is Francesca Bridgerton autistic?

Wow, that’s really hard to say! It’s hard enough to diagnose autistic girls in the real world, let alone in a fictional version of the English Regency where mothers don’t teach their daughters where babies come from. (For example, this came up several times in The Bridgerton Chronicles, whether it’s Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) or the Featherington sisters!) So maybe Hannah Dodd is playing a little Fran on the spectrum. Interpret his performance however you want, but there’s still nothing wrong with being neurologically atypical.

Is Francesca Bridgerton asexual?

So why isn’t Francesca interested in a romantic marriage? Is Francesca asexual?

Like a The Bridgerton Chronicles book reader, that’s the most laughable suggestion I’ve ever heard! Francesca’s book, When he was badis somehow discreet, considered the most exciting The Bridgerton Chronicles novel precisely because it follows Francesca in the role of a young widow who really loves sex and knows how to have it and enjoy it.

Francesca is not asexual, but even if she were, it wouldn’t be wrong or bad!

Also, as you see in The Bridgerton Chronicles Season 3 Episode 4, Francesca is indeed very close to John Stirling, the Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli). She’s absolutely delighted that the mysterious man she met at a dance has called on her at Bridgerton House – and even more charmed that instead of wooing her with words, he sits with her in silence . It’s a nod to how they met and as calm. And if her clumsy attempt at flirting with him on the street didn’t convince you, the way she’s stunned by his sheet music gesture should prove it.

No, Francesca is definitely not asexual. She is really in love with John Stirling. (And who wouldn’t be? He’s so handsome and handsome!)

Who does Francesca marry in the The Bridgerton Chronicles Books?

Are you ready for the most devastating spoilers ever? In the books, Francesca marries her Earl of Kilmartin. They live a happy life… for two short years. John Stirling dies suddenly from a neurological problem that is likely an aneurysm or stroke. Four years later, Francesca decides she wants to have a child and re-enters the marriage market. She crosses paths with John’s best friend and cousin, the debauched Michael Stirling. I’ll let you put two and two, or a widow and a rake together.

The Bridgerton Chronicles Maybe bypass the whole tragic affair and go in a different direction, but the fact that we have a John Stirling pursuing a young Francesca suggests otherwise.

Where is Francesca Bridgerton from?

From his parents, Violet (Ruth Gemmell) and Edmund Bridgerton (Rupert Evans), duh. Or Julia Quinn’s imagination.

Oh, you mean, where was she all this time? She was a supporting character in the first episodes of The Bridgerton Chronicles Seasons 1 and 2. We know that in The Bridgerton Chronicles During season 1, she abruptly left for Bath to study the pianoforte. In season 2, she disappeared for unknown reasons.
