Fyre Festival 2 is back in the air, after the event organizers said on Wednesday that they would send a message to ticket holders announcing that the festival would no longer take place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
In the update, which was shared with the New York Times, the organizers provided potential festival -goers which he examined with new locations and that the event was “always on the move”: “We check new locations and will soon announce our host destination. Our priorities remain unchanged: the realization of an unforgettable, safe and transparent experience, ”says the message.
But it was already the second time in three months that the festival, a series of the unhappy concert event in 2017, had changed places. And the uncertainty surrounding artists, the availability of tickets and accommodation in recent weeks have led a lot to wonder if the event would occur at all, or if it was another epic catastrophe that awaited, just like the one who had sent its organizer, Billy McFarland, to prison after seizing a plea of guilt with accusations which included a wired fraud.
On Wednesday, the event organizers blamed the local authorities of Playa Del Carmen for the last hung in their plans, accusing the government of stealing Fyre Fest without proposing proof. (Calls to managers of the city of Playa del Carmen looking for comments went to voicemail.)
Fyre Fest 2, which would have taken place next month, could have been a takeover tour for Mr. McFarland, which was released in 2022 after almost four years in prison and six other months of confinement.
In February, Mr. McFarland, 33, announced that the following event would take place at the end of May on Isla Mujeres, a hot spot of the Mexican island and holidays off Cancun.
