The drama didn’t stop when the cameras went off for WWE’s blockbuster Monday Night RAW debut on Netflix. After CM Punk’s victory over Seth Rollins in a show-stealing main event, fans at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, were treated to a bonus dose of tension that had everyone talking.
As Punk stood victorious, soaking in the energy of the crowd, Seth Rollins remained in the ring, visibly frustrated. Blood streaked from what appeared to be his ear or cheekbone, adding an intense visual to the moment. Without saying a word, Rollins glared at Punk before exiting the ring, leaving the self-proclaimed “Best in the World” to bask in his massive win.
CM Punk didn’t waste any time sharing his thoughts. Speaking with Jackie Redman, Punk opened up about what it meant to headline the first-ever RAW on Netflix.
“46 is just a number, and so is number one. That’s exactly what I am and exactly what I’ve been saying since I got here in 2005,” Punk declared. “Yeah, maybe I took a ten-year vacation, but I’m back and better than ever. Nobody is touching me. BITW. Best in the World, that’s what it means.”
Punk didn’t stop there, making it clear he has big plans for 2025. “I’m coming for all the gold in 2025. Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania. Netflix, biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life,” Punk continued. “This match is for Chad Gilbert. This match is for Chris Bey. This match is for me and anybody who ever said I wasn’t sh*t. Look at me now.”
Punk also teased his sights on WWE’s biggest stars. “Royal Rumble, you’re next on the list. Gunther, I’m coming for you. Cody, I’m coming for you. I’m Mr. October. I’m Game 7. I am clutch. I am the best in the world.”
The significance of Punk vs. Rollins wasn’t lost on fans, especially given its WrestleMania-worthy status. Initially planned for WrestleMania 41, the match was moved to RAW to emphasize the importance of this Netflix debut. Along with Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley, this change showed just how much WWE invested in making the night feel historic.
The intense staredown between Punk and Rollins, coupled with Punk’s fiery backstage comments, has left fans talking about what’s next. With WrestleMania season just around the corner, it’s safe to say the stage is set for even more fireworks.
