There is no set time for the BOJ, but we expect today’s decision between 02:30 and 03:30 GMT, so the watch will start in about 35 minutes.
The BoJ’s previous decision was announced at 03:34 GMT, which is at the late end of the range. The decision was historic as it was the first hike in 17 years. There is precedent for policy changes coming later than unchanged changes, which may be a clue as we watch the minutes tick by.
