Although Joe Milton III’s commerce of the Patriots could have been a little strange, the transaction itself was certainly not a shock.
Milton became a commercial commercial chip when he shone in the 2024 New England season. However, writing was really on the wall when the patriots added to their quarter room at the start of the NFL free agency. New England has signed the eight-year-old veteran, Joshua Dobbs, who worked with Mike Vrabel in the past, a two-year contract.
But before putting a pen on paper in Foxboro, in the Mass., Dobbs would have been more or less said that Milton was not going to be long for a Patriot Place.
“When Josh Dobbs came here, he wanted to be the main backup,” said Albert Breer de Sports illustrated last week on 98.5 The Sports Hub. “When you have this age, you want to know, like” hey, if I will sign here, I want a pretty good assurance that I will be part of the team in September. “So they said to him,” We don’t want a competition in the room for Drake (Maye) right now.
It apparently became clear for the Patriots and Milton that their partnership was not going to work. In addition to New England which would have wanted to even keep a semblance of competition far from Maye, Milton would have qualified as a start-up caliber. Although the sixth round in 2024 immediately became QB1 for cowboys, it certainly has a better chance of playing Dallas in New England.
History continues below advertising
So, could the patriots have been able to hold on and go a little more to a job for Milton? Maybe. But New England clearly wanted to avoid distractions before a very important season, so the restructuring of the quarter room before things probably become messy.
