What just happened on “Doctor Who”?

Doctor WhoThe last season is just over – and with it, we have just been struck by an absolute shock from a cliffhanger. Let’s talk, are we going?

Prepare to sacrifice yourself to change time and save the young poppy – a descendant of human biology and time Lord – by rejecting his regenerative energy in the vortex of time, “the war of reality” culminates while the 15th doctor closes in his late and moves away from the earth, preparing to give everything. The paradox of time itself separating, however, gives him a hand … in the form of none other than The 13th doctor of Jodie Whittaker. Who does not take much convincing, scattered with his own grain of time by imminent schism, to help this new doctor say goodbye for reality.

After an emotional farewell where the two ruminate on lives are interrupted – a nods pointed out, perhaps – the doctor is exposed to the Tardis console, virtually tearing the regenerative energy of his own body to explode the time machine. Everything breaks and the doctor realizes that his recovery time. Delay the regeneration as long as possible and find himself on earth, and in the rear garden of Belinda, the 15th doctor begins his long farewell, realizing that he managed to save the day and bring Poppy back to existence.

Applicating a farewell to tears in Belinda and Poppy (who has become human being restored), the doctor returns to the Tardis. Unable to hold it more, the 15th doctor begins his regeneration, overflowing with golden light while he leans late doors and in the whole universe.

He changes. In a woman. A blonde woman. She looks enormously Like pink TylerBecause Billie Piper is the doctor.

“Oh Hello,” said the new doctor. And that’s how Doctor WhoThe current season is coming to an end.

How long we have to wait to see the familiar face ramifications of the 16th doctor remains to be seen. The BBC and Disney have not yet confirmed right at the moment when, if, if, Doctor Who will come back in its current form. There is probably something to say with the fact that the episode attributes to Piper as it is, rather than presenting Billie Piper “as a doctor”, as it is the usual tradition with these things. For what it is worth, Ncuti Gatwa and Jodie Whittaker have been credited as such, which means that the absence for Piper stands out all the more.

What still complicates things is that this era of the series has already been reserved by the almost identical “cascade” casting: of course, Whittaker’s own doctor regenerated in a shocking way in “Power of the Doctor” not in Gatwa, But David Tennantwho returned to play a new one, 14th incarnation of the doctor for Doctor WhoSpecial of the 60th anniversary, before passing the regenerative torch in Gatwa in the (just as tumultuous) Arrival of “bi-regeneration”leaving a time to inadvertently divide into two bodies at the time of their regeneration.

Neither of the two companies has officially confirmed the future seasons of Doctor WHOAlthough regeneration, with Piper or other, obviously leaves things open to a new era to start at some point. Not even A Christmas special for 2025 was ordered and with the upcoming spin-off War between the land and the sea On the way, it could be a good time until we see what is the real deal here.

Anyway, Ncuti Gatwa’s time on Doctor Who ended … and a very uncertain future is ahead of the last resident of Tardis.
