Pitt transfer Jaland Lowe is a Kentucky Wildcat. The 3 -foot 3 -inch Sophomore Guard announced the new Saturday morning, becoming the second addition of an incoming portal for Mark Pope So far this offseason.
After two seasons with the panthers, Lowe makes the jump in blue blood. He was appointed third All-ECC team last season after a productive race with Pitt. Lowe has an average of 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 interceptions in 35.4 minutes per outing in 2024-25. On the surface, his shooting divisions leave something to be desired, but there are sections proven excellent three -point shots that return to his first -year campaign. Operating in an offense adapted to its style of play should spit more effective results.
But if you are someone who still hesitates how talented the player is, allow some of the best coaches to tell you about it. Pitt finished with a disappointing file of 17-15 this season, but the opposing coaches feared Lowe when he was on the other side of the ground. Jon Scheyer (Duke) and Pat Kelsey (Louisville) Both led their teams to win Pitt in the regular season, but they had a lot of praise for the future Wildcat in the process.

Duke won this match in an eruption (as they did for most conference enemies) by beating Pitt 76-47. Certainly Lowe did not have its best performance. But no one for the panthers did it. Upon entering the match, Scheyer underlined Lowe as someone in him and his staff to plan strongly.
“Lowe is a very good player,” said Scheyer to George Michalowski from Pittsburgh Sports now before the match. “I mean, he can just score in different ways, he can pull the 3, he can attack the basket, he can create and he plays almost the whole game.
“So you have to do it, it is not a guy who pulls a couple, right? He will continue to shoot what is going on and he has an excellent game mentality in this regard. So, you must continually stay in a position on him and you must be as difficult as possible.

Louisville also beat Pitt (in the two games in the regular season, in fact), but Kelsey had a lot of positive points to say on Lowe after the second victory (79-68) in early March.
During the first match between Pitt and the Cardinals in January, a defeat of 82-78 for the Panthers, Lowe collected 24 points, six assists, two rebounds, a flight and four reversals in 37 minutes. Lowe then dropped a double-double in the revenge match a few months later.
“The No. 15 is a dynamic guard,” Kelsey said about Lowe on March 1. “He puts you mistakes.
“We call it Matrix, right?” So, you saw the film The Matrix, you know, as when the bullets fly over the guy’s head, and they look at him. Well, (Lowe) throws these passes that, if you look at ball, he will find that guy. Individual head-to-head.
