What is Armageddon?
Armageddon is used as a break in final equality in failures. The Armageddon format, which is a type of fast failure, uses rules similar to that of an ordinary chess. However, there are two notable differences in Armageddon failures.
The first is that the black pieces have “odds”, which means that the player playing with Black has only to get a draw against his opponent to win the competition.
Another aspect is that the player with black parts starts with less time on the clock. In Blitz Time Control Games, the player with black pieces four minutes and the player with white has five minutes. On the other hand, in quick format, the players with white have 10 minutes while the black rooms have eight minutes.
Another type of Armageddon is Armageddon submission. In this format, players can teach time to play with black pieces. They inform the referee of the time they are ready to abandon in order to play with the color they choose. Players who are ready to play with less time then receive black parts and draw odds.
