The devastating injury of Achilles that Jayson Tatum suffered in match 4 weighed heavy on the spirit of his Boston Celtics teammates.
Tatum underwent a successful surgery to repair his Achilles broken Tuesday, remaining in New York to do so while the team – literally and figuratively – moved without the star of the Celtics.
But Derrick White, who has a close link with Tatum, has always wanted to show his teammate in one way or another, which led White to send a thoughtful message for Tatum, which faces several months of an exhausting rehabilitation process.
“Obviously, it’s difficult to see,” White told journalists after the Boston match 5 victory, according to Zack Cox of Boston Herald. “I sent him a text. And that was a bit like I could do, it was really to send him a text. Just tell him that we believe in him and that he will make a comeback of this setback. There is really not much that I can do, especially at the moment, but I will support him throughout his trip, and I know he will do everything he needs to do to support us with us. ”
White did its best to honor Tatum and channeled the Star of the Celtics with his performance in match 5. White was a catalyst in the 127-102 victory, pouring a summit of 34 points out of seven 3 points.

White has also done work in other areas. To accompany his hot shooting hand, the 6 -foot 4 -inch goalkeeper went 9 for 11 of the Launcère Francs line and also collected three blocks. It was a White’s unique statistical line – one that has only been made two other times in the history of the NBA, according to Cox – and one that was very necessary for the Celtics with Tatum sidelines.
“It is not like someone to walk and do what I do at the level it does,” said White. “So, we have to somehow play a little differently and find ways to create offenses, bounce back, just everything they do on the field. Everyone has to intensify. We have done it tonight, and we have to try to find a way to win the match 6.”
