New Delhi after 18 long years of quasi-miss and sorrows, Virat Kohli finally led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their very first Indian Premier League Title, sealing a ten -point outstretched victory on the kings of Punjab in a pulsating final at the Narendra Modi stadium on Tuesday evening. While the last ball was upset and the victory was confirmed, Kohli’s emotions overflowed. Tears sank on his face as he hired his wife in his arms, Anushka SharmaAnd placed a kiss on his forehead to mark his happiness.Addressing diffusers, Kohli also credited Anushka for the role she played in her winning moment of the IPL which came after 18 years.“Watch ourselves missing. What your life partner does so that you can play – sacrifices, commitment and simply support you through thickness and thin – is something that you cannot explain in words,” said Kohli.“It is only when you play professionally, understand the many things that happen behind the scenes and what they also go through. What Anushka has gone emotionally – looking at me to be down and outside, coming to games, being so connected with Bangalore (she is also a girl from Bangalore), and that she is so proud of RCB – it is very special for her.Kohli remains an ardent defender of the test cricket, once again expressing his opinion on young people playing the longest format after Royal Challengers Bengaluru has ended their 18 -year -old drought to win the IPL title.Kohli announced his retirement during the IPL 2025 season and will not be part of the team against England for five test games in the next two months. His latest appearance in the format came against Australia in the 2024/25 Border Gavaskar Trophy.Kohli thinks that there is nothing more important than playing test cricket and said that it is only after playing in the longest format that the world will really respect a player for his game.“You know, this moment is up there with the best moments I had in my career. But that still marks five levels under test cricket. This is how much I appreciate the test cricket. And it is how much I like the test cricket I like.“So, I simply exhaust the young people who arrive, to treat this format with respect. Because if you play in the test cricket, you walk around the world, people are looking in your eyes and you shake hands and say:” Bravo, you have played the game very well “. So, if you want to gain respect in global cricket everywhere, take test cricket and give your heart and soul to it. And when you go out with wonders on the other side, you gain respect in the world of cricket with legends like melting our hearts on the field and out of the field, “Kohli said on Tuesday.Kohli has submitted his test career with 9,230 points in 123 games to an impressive average of 46.85, including 30 centuries and 31 half-centurys. He ended his test career as the fourth most successful test captain as a whole with 40 victories, behind Graeme Smith (53 victories), Ricky Ponting (48 victories) and Steve Waugh (41 victories). He also holds the record for the most hundreds of hundreds of tests by an Indian captain, with 20 tonnes – well in advance of the 11 centuries of Sunil Gavaskar.
