West Ham vs Tottenham LIVE: Spurs eye vital derby win against Hammers as Champions League race heats up

West Ham v Tottenham

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is expecting a tough clash at the London Stadium this evening.

“It’s another tough game, a London derby away, and West Ham have been good this year,” Postecoglou said.

“So it’s another good challenge for us, but I’m sure the guys will have a lot of confidence in winning on Saturday and we’re looking forward to it.

“At this time of year, every game has a consequence, not just for us, but for every club, everyone is fighting for something.

“I hope this time of year you are fighting for something meaningful.

“For us, we’re a little short of where we want to be, but we want to finish the season strong and if we do that it sets us up well for what’s ahead.”

The hosts are expected to be without first-choice goalkeeper Alphonse Areola due to injury, with Lukasz Fabianski set to fill in in goal.

West Ham are hoping for a double boost from Nayef Aguerd and Michail Antonio, but Edson Alvarez remains suspended.

Meanwhile, Spurs are still missing several stars, with Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster and Manor Solomon all on the sidelines.

Elsewhere, Richarlison and Micky van de Ven are hoping to make their first starts since returning from injury.

West Ham v Tottenham

Hello and welcome to talkSPORT.com’s West Ham vs Tottenham Premier League live blog!

Spurs massively boosted their Champions League qualification hopes by coming from behind to seal a late 2-1 win over Luton last weekend.

Heung-min Son’s 86th-minute goal moved the club to within three points of fourth-placed Aston Villa with a game in hand.

Tottenham can now move ahead of Unai Emery’s side with a win, but Spurs have lost three of their last five Premier League derby matches in London, including against West Ham in the reverse fixture in December.

David Moyes’ Hammers will also be desperate to put on a good show in front of their own fans, having blown a 3-1 lead against Newcastle.

West Ham conceded three times in the final 13 minutes to lose 4-3 at St James’ Park and remain seventh in the table.
