West Ham 2-2 Liverpool LIVE REACTION: Reds were keen to draw but end title hopes as Salah and Klopp were involved in a heated argument

West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Jarrod Bowen’s opening goal (his 16th league goal of 2023-24) saw him become the joint-top scorer in a single Premier League campaign for West Ham.

He has now equaled legend Paolo Di Canio’s tally of 16 in 1999-2000.

What a season Bowen is having!

West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Liverpool have won just one of their last five Premier League matches (D2 L2).

And they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 14 matches in the competition.

Everything is going wrong for Jurgen Klopp.

West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Gakpo knows Liverpool’s title hopes are under threat after dropping more points.

“We are in a very, very difficult situation,” he admitted.

“If Arsenal win it will be five points and Man City will have difficult games.

“It’s going to be difficult, not impossible, but very, very difficult.”

West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo reacted to the 2-2 draw.

Gakpo told TNT Sports: “The result was not what we wanted. We came for three points.

“We played a good game, we controlled the first half and then conceded.

“It’s difficult to come back but we scored two goals and then we had to stay calmer and keep the ball.

“We had to play and not concede, but we did.”

He continued: “The ball isn’t going in. That’s something we’ve had to improve on for quite a long time now.

“If we knew why (this is happening), we would solve the problem. I don’t know.”

West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

Stuart Pearce has spoken out about the incident between Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp.

He told talkSPORT: “Whether Salah is thinking about the summer (and a possible move from Liverpool) or not, I don’t know.

“But when you set standards as ridiculously high as Salah’s, there’s no doubt you’re frustrated with your own form.

“I’m just watching a replay of the interaction now, Jurgen said something to Salah and he reacts, and the more he reacts the more and more physical he gets.

“Nunez and Gomez had to really be peacemakers and hold him back.

“This sort of thing happens because of the frustration Salah will feel about his own form and knowing the manager won’t be there in a few weeks.”

West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: REACTION

So, after dropping more points, Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes appear to be over.

They remain in third place and behind their rivals having played more matches than both of them.

As for West Ham, they remain on the verge of securing a place in Europe next season but will have to rely on slip-ups from other teams.
