One of Wrexham’s winning heroes made an emotional statement on social networks announcing that he will leave the “magic” club, declaring that it was “not by choice”.
The Welsh team has reached the championship at the end of another fairy stories campaign since the Hollywood Superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney, their third on the rebound.
Having spent 15 seasons at the fifth level of national football, Wrexham left Ligue 1 directly, in Ligue 1, and has now obtained its place in the championship for the next mandate.
However, one of the key figures of their miraculous climb published a surprise farewell on Instagram on Thursday evening.
Steven Fletcher has marked eight times this quarter, but found himself in consignment on the bench for the vast majority of the season while his influence decreased in the field, with Sam Smith the favorite choice of the club in the middle.
“It is with a heavy heart, and not by choice, that I unfortunately have to announce my departure from what I can only describe as the most magical club I have ever played!” He wrote.

“During my 22 years of walking on a field, I have never experienced anything like this club.
“I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to come here and fall back in love with the game! Having the experiences and opportunities that this club offered me was simply incredible. And this group of guys is the best with which I have ever shared a wardrobe.
“It’s not just a team or a locker room. This group of boys, fans and staff has been my family for two years.
“You welcomed me with open arms and open hearts and made me feel that I had a goal again.
Naturally, the rapid progress in the ranks required a lot of overhaul of the staff with each year, the club needing to adapt to the requests of a new league may be faster than expected.
The stars of previous campaigns, like Paul Mullin for example, found themselves losing their key figure role while Wrexham seeks to go up the scale as quickly as possible.
The reports have already said that the Welsh outfit is preparing for life in the championship by looking a little further and trying to attract premier league talents to the club.
Wrexham has already made an approach to the Captain of Fulham, Tom Cairney, according to the Telegraph, although the discussions are still in the early stages.

The 34 -year -old man has been in Craven Cottage for a decade and has the West Londoners captain since 2017, but will be out of contract at the end of the season and should leave.
In the case of Fletcher, his departure from Wrexham arrived towards the end of a long career in the match, after having presented teams like Sunderland, Marseille, Wolves and Burnley, including 189 games and 53 goals in the Premier League.
His farewell continued: “For my teammates – you are family! I have never experienced a dressing room like that in my career, and I cannot believe that I cannot enter it every day next season.
“Staff – Thank you for your time, dedication and faith in me.
“And fans – thank you for taking a risk on an old Scottish man and giving him the impression that it was his house, the memories will last forever!”
‘Wrexham as a club and town and as people, will have a place in my heart that will never be replaced !!
“And for Rob Mcelhenney and Ryan Reynolds – Thank you!” For the occasion, the support, the joy what to be part of this club brought me!
