Weezer Scott Shriner’s bass player Jillian Lauren was killed by police while the police were pursuing suspects during a flight offense in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the Los Angeles police service.
The LAPD officers said they had answered the scene to help California Highway Patrol to find three suspects following a flight offense in the Eagle Rock district. The authorities said they were working to install a perimeter in the region after the suspects found themselves in a residential area near the highway 134 and rue Figueroa.
Shortly in their research, the police checked a residence for one of the suspects when they spotted a woman, later identified as Jillian Shriner, outside a neighboring residence and armed with a handgun. The police said that she had ordered him to drop the gun several times, but said that she had refused and had pointed her, and the police fired on Shriner.
She returned to her house, but left later and was arrested, according to LAPD. Lafd’s paramedical paramedics took her to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that are not putting his life in danger. Police said Shriner was not involved in the flight offense, and was reserved for an attempted murder.
No policeman was injured during the shooting. As for the suspects of flight offense, one was arrested by Highway Patrol and two remain on the run.
Weezer – The rock group composed of Rivers Cuomo, Shriner, Patrick Wilson and Brian Bell – were announced as a surprise complement to perform at the Festival of Music and Arts Coachella Valley on Saturday. They were a late addition after other artists, including Fka Twigs and Anitta, abandoned the music festival.
