This weekend’s fixtures (Premier League, kick-off at 3 p.m. unless otherwise stated):

  • Sheffield United v Burnley
  • Chelsea v Manchester City (FA Cup, 5:15 p.m.)
  • Wolves v Arsenal (7:30 p.m.)

  • Aston Villa v Bournemouth
  • Crystal Palace vs West Ham
  • Coventry v Manchester United (FA Cup, 3:30 p.m.)

The main football events this weekend are the FA Cup semi-finals which will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, and kick off with reigning champions Manchester City looking to qualify for back-to-back finals then that they face a Chelsea team in form.

Sunday’s final sees Coventry, the only team remaining in the competition outside the Premier League, face last season’s runners-up Manchester United, who are looking to go one better than last season.

Returning to the Premier League, seven matches will take place this weekend due to other teams’ participation in the FA Cup, kicking off with three matches on Saturday afternoon with the final three in action.

Luton host Brentford at Kenilworth Road, knowing a win would take them out of the relegation zone, for at least 24 hours, while the bottom two teams, Sheffield United and Burnley, meet at Bramall Lane, the loser of the match being practically relegated.

Arsenal have the chance to go top of the Premier League on Saturday night and put the pressure back on reigning champions Manchester City with a visit to Molineux as they look to get back to winning ways against Wolves.

On Sunday lunchtime, Nottingham Forest host Everton in a massive match in the battle to avoid relegation as 16th play 17th, with both teams two points from the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa continue their progress from their place in next season’s Champions League with a home game against Bournemouth, while West Ham travel to Crystal Palace for a London derby with the Hammers aiming for European football next season.

The final game of the weekend will see title chasing Liverpool in the capital to face Fulham, looking to move clear of Manchester City and potentially into top spot in the table, in a bid to make the most of City’s inactivity in the championship this weekend.
