Charlotte Tilbury has a nose for the biggest beauty trends.
The makeup mogul’s products regularly go viral on TikTok and have found famous fans in Emma Stone, Meghan Markle, Amal Clooney and Kate Moss (to name a few).
So when the brand launched into perfume on Tuesday with its Fragrances of Emotions collection – six scents that are supposed to allow you to “spray on a feeling” – we sensed the potential for something else.
“As the human sense of smell is directly linked to the mind, Charlotte’s Emotions Perfume Collection bottles the worlds of love, happiness, sex, energy, empowerment and calm to immerse yourself immediately in the feelings with a spray,” a press release. bed.

Below, we put each of the “emotionally stimulating” blends to the test – from the seductive (Love Frequency and More Sex) to the tranquil (Calm Bliss and Magic Energy) to the empowering (Joyphoria and Cosmic Power).
Our opinion
Joyphoria: “Happiness in a bottle”
The warm and floral Joyphoria features notes of “radiant” ylang ylang and “enchanting” vanilla bean extract. The overall effect is not overly sweet – as I have found other vanilla blends – and is more like a warm sunrise in scent form.
“It’s really nice. It’s sophisticated, but light enough that you could probably wear it every day,” Page Six Style Editor Elana Fishman said upon first sniff.
Cosmic Power: “Empowerment in a Bottle”
As someone who prefers a spicy-sweet scent, this was by far my favorite of the bunch. While I can’t give it full credit for manifesting cosmic luck – I tested it during Mercury retrograde and managed to avoid any train delays or technical glitches – the spicy amber scent formulated with “bold” black pepper oil and “divine” cinnamon bark. the oil, “mystical” amber and “enchanting” vanilla bean extract lingered throughout the day.
Fishman likened it to the “most expensive dessert on the menu” — and it would make an equally sweet surprise for Mother’s Day or for an astrology-loving friend.
More Sex: “Seduction in a Bottle”
From the concrete name to the ruby bottle, the sensuality behind More Sex is beyond doubt. Made with “sensual” sandalwood oil, “addictive and intoxicating” leather accord and velvety musk, this sensual blend is like the perfume equivalent of a fiery red lipstick.
“Its first impression is musky, spicy and sweet, which I like,” said Holly J. Colley, editor of the New York Post Updates. “At first I was disappointed that there wasn’t much projection after the initial drying. However, it really is one of those scents that sits close to the skin, so someone has to be pretty close to experience it. In my opinion, this makes it a great date night scent.
Love Frequency: “A love portal in a bottle”
With a pink bottle reminiscent of a love potion, this floral perfume is by far the most seductive of the group. With notes of “sensual” saffron, “romantic” ultimate rose extract and “addictive” pink pepper, it has drawn several comparisons to our collaborators’ favorite perfumes from the Y2K era – although ‘with a much higher touch.
Magical Energy: “Energy in a bottle”
With top notes of “awakening” bergamot and “earthy” myrtle, this citrusy, woody blend is the most enduring of scents in more ways than one. As well as evoking a walk through the forest, Magic Energy strikes a balance between woody and floral, perhaps accommodating a wider range of preferences and occasions.
“I could see it being the most unisex scent; I feel like anyone could wear this and really love it,” Fishman added of the “woodsy but not overbearing” blend.
Calm Bliss: “Serenity in a bottle”
This fresh, floral, aquatic scent has sparked several beach day comparisons among our team (several of whom even compared it to the smell of truly luxurious sunscreen). The clean-smelling perfume features notes of “sparkling and precious” sweet neroli oil, “soothing” orange blossom absolute, “relaxing” lavender oil and “soft” white musk.
New York Post Commerce editor Emma Sutton-Williams said it smells “like I just took a trip to Florida without all the expenses.”

How we tested
Several of our staff reacted blindly to each scent – trying to guess what emotion Tilbury intended to evoke – and sprayed some of their favorites. Additionally, I tested the new scents on different days of the week to compare scent profiles and test the duration of each.
The final verdict
Benefits:
- With so many distinct options, there’s something for everyone
- Emotional inspiration is a fun concept if you’re hoping to manifest a certain feeling.
- Luxurious packaging – including a fairytale poem on each box – makes a great gift
The inconvenients:
- The price of a full size bottle ($150) is expensive, especially if you collect them all.
- Some fragrances (like More Sex) didn’t stay on the skin as long in our tests
Tilbury’s first-ever comprehensive fragrance collection — preceded only by a one-off, limited-edition fragrance launched in 2016 — gives new meaning to bottling process your emotions.

Overall, we were impressed with the pretty potion-like packaging and the luxurious scents included in the range. (Although, as some of our staffers have noted, not all scents last that long.)
