- I have accumulated enough Qantas points for business class seats on one of the longest flights in the world.
- My wife and I agreed that our 17 -hour trip from Dallas to Melbourne was luxurious, not exhausting.
- We had an excellent experience with our pre-vols advantages, our flight services and our advantages after landing.
My wife and I frequently approach the 5 -hour trip between Texas and Australia.
Our usual flight of Qantas from Dallas to Melbourne is considered one of the longest in the world, and it can be quite intense.
After years of piloting in the economy, my wife and I recently accumulated enough Qantas Air Miles to experience long-haul flight in business class, which would generally cost thousands of dollars per square.
This is what it was.
VIP treatment started before takeoff.

The dedicated recording of the commercial class and the priority boarding meant that our trip took a stress without stress. We haven’t waited in any line.
Once on the plane and seated, the on -board agents welcomed us with sparkling and premium pleasure kits containing bases such as hand cream and a toothbrush.
We also received a similar form to the room service card of a hotel which allowed us to pre -order breakfast. I checked the boxes for my morning preferences and I loved being able to maximize precious sleep time without lacking meals.
My private pod looked more like a hotel room than a plane seat.

My wife and I had the pair of middle seats in our business class row, where two seats occupied the space of four economic spots.
Each pod had a 16 -inch HD screen loaded with hundreds of movies and television emissions, a little storage for essential elements, USB load ports and enough space to store a small hand luggage at hand.
In addition, we each had a completely tilting seat which would later turn into an appropriate bed.
Culinary experiences made me feel that I was in a restaurant.

The dinner several times has competed the meals I had in high -end restaurants.
Dinner alone included three routes, starting with a confit duck salad with tomatoes, dates, grenade and caramelized nuts. The main dish was a seasoned beef net served with corn puree, green beans and red wine juice.
As a person who usually avoids sweet desserts, I liked to finish my meal with a selection of organized cheese associated with red wine.
Throughout the flight, excellent service made me feel like a precious guest.

Food choices did not stop with the main meals – the business class passengers had access to a dedicated self -service area with superior quality snacks, fresh fruit and drinks throughout the flight.
On -board agents have also regularly crossed the cabin to offer us water and light refreshments, ensuring that we are well hydrated during the long trip.
I was able to sleep on the plane – and our business class advantages continued after landing.

As there was later, I changed in my free Qantas pajamas in the bathroom and I returned to my pod to note that it had been transformed into a comfortable sleeping space.
The crew had a thick mattress, a duvet and a large pillow. The bed returning to the seat was flat and I had enough room to stretch me completely.
Courage in a bed was much more pleasant than referring to increasingly uncomfortable positions while trying to take a nap under the economy.
For once, I was able to sleep on a plane with ease – and I did it for nine hours. When we landed, I felt refreshed rather than exhausted.
Our business class advantages have also continued on the ground. We were among the first passengers of the plane, and having luggage marked by priority meant that we had our bags quickly.
We were in a Uber at our next destination within 30 minutes of landing.
This flight felt really valid.

Going in business class, our 5 -hour trip has gone from an exhausting event in a luxurious experience.
Despite my arrival in Melbourne at 5:30 am, I stayed awake all day and I did not live with the misty head and the zombie type state that I always feel after long-haul flights. I attribute this lack of jetlag to obtain a full night of rest on the plane.
Business class may feel out of reach for many travelers, because a flight can cost thousands of people in each direction. However, trying to use frequent flight and credit card points to upgrade can be a great value-especially on long-haul routes like this.
It will be difficult to return to the economy cabin for my next trip, but I am already saving points for our next commercial class adventure.
