NEW YORK – The fifth throw of Aaron Nola night was a low curved ball and in one of the nitro zones of Francisco Lindor, he traveled 376 feet above the wall in the right field and therefore started the series of the 2025 Phillies season with the food.
The phils were returned to the house last October on this same land in Flushing, and the dishes looked like the upper team again on Monday evening. The 5-4 final was misleading while the dishes entered the ninth with an advance of five points and tried to obtain the lifter of the Max Kranick midfielder through a third round when the phillies finally passed with a few strokes. Bryson Stott attracted Edwin Diaz to make a game to a race, but that’s how it finished.
Nola served home races in mind in each of the first two rounds while the right of the Tylor Megill food stifled the phils offensive for the sixth consecutive time.
Megill withdrew eight of the nine the first trip through the order, withdrawing five, before the phillies put solid appearances in plates during the third round. They loaded the basics on a Bryson Stott Single and two consecutive walks from Trea Turner and Bryce Harper. Kyle Schwarber, however, widened the area to get rid of a change in descent.
Not to capitalize on this opportunity which hurt because the chances of the phillies of touching Megill have always been sparse. He dominated them in first six to 2022 with an MPM of 1.36. The phillies struck 0.149 and dominated once in 124 appearances against him.
“For me, I have the impression of doing a lot of things better. We walk at a very high rate. We just have the impression that we do not hit enough circuits or do not get enough key tubes,” said Turner. “We had more than more Baserunners tonight at least. We just felt like we had guys there all the match.”
The phillies are 13-10, three games behind the dishes in the NL East. They have 20-30 in their last 50 games against the dishes, which played them hard before they even start to pass freely under the owner Steve Cohen. It looks like a much better club than even the one who defeated the Phillies in the NLD 2024 with the additions of Juan Soto and Clay Holmes, a healthy Kodai Senga and the most productive start of the career of Pete Alonso.
It was obviously only one match at the start of the season and the teams will meet at least 12 times more, but Monday was the continuation of a few trends concerning. Phils will have to hit Megill at some point. His career era entering the night was 4.39.
“Big Guy, angle of big arms,” said Turner. “The speed is really good to get out to cheat to go to the quick ball, then the friendly is good enough to get you out. I have to fight. I felt like we had traffic there, I couldn’t get the blow to give us the head.”
Nola was slightly better than it had been before and two of the races he was accused was inherited by Jose Ruiz, but he continues to fight with the Home Run balloon, pitch with a reduced speed and put more traffic on the basic packages than usual. Although he has had problems in the past to keep the ball in the park, Nola has always maintained low walking rates and low adverse strikers, which has resulted in many circuits as solos.
Nola was more struck than ever, however, with an average of the stick of .301 compared to .233 for her career. He also walked 10 strikers in his last three departures. Nola declared after his last outing against the giants, he did not feel like himself of the trunction this season, and he spent a lot of time in the section, putting the leading man on the base in nine of his last 18 sleeves. He has 0-5 with an MPM of 6.43.
The phillies did not give him much with whom to work, marking a large total of five points in his five departures.
“The guys are starting to try a little harder when it seems that these tubes do not fall for you,” said Turner. “We do positive things but we have to drive.”
