“We have seen dangerous trends concerning the support of civil society in other countries, and I cannot believe that the CDU wishes to end up in this camp,” said René Repasi, head of the German socialist delegation in the European Parliament.

“Distinguishing the NGOs, as the European people and the CDU do, is unjustified and deeply disturbing,” said Ciarán Cuffe, co -president of the European Green Party. “We do not want the EPP to become a kind of police from Orwellian thought, telling civil society what to think.”
