Tanya Oxtby, manager of Northern Ireland, said that “the preparations were very good” in front of the double-head of the League of Nations with Romania.

Friday’s first match, which can be consulted live on BBC Iplayer, will be absent before the return match in Belfast on Tuesday.

Northern Ireland is second in group B1 after a victory at the end of the return against Bosnia and Herzegovina in February, while Romania is without victory in two games.

“We had a few days in Leicester before flying away. We are here now and we are looking forward to having an idea on the ground,” said Oxtby.

“The girls were sensational in terms of their application and I can’t wait to watch them play.”
