Watch the ‘Drag Race All Stars 9’ Cast Unpack Their Drag Bags

A wise old queen once said: If you stay prepared, you don’t have to prepare. It’s an idiom that A-list performers swear by, so who better to illustrate this saying than the cast of Drag Race All Stars by RuPaul 9, eight deliciously seasoned queens who know exactly how to take it to the podium and keep viewers asking for more?

Just weeks after RuPaul crowned Nymphia Wind the winner of season 16, Mama Ru is gearing up for season nine. All the stars installation of the Emmy Award-winning series, once again rewriting the rules of the beloved series with twists and turns that even the mightiest of lip-sync assassins couldn’t have prepared for.

To celebrate the return of the eight iconic queens: Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Gottmik, Jorgeous, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Roxxxy Andrews, Shannel and Vanessa Vanjie –In the style asked the dolls to spill what was inside their Louis Vuitton bags (Plastic, of course) and unbranded (sorry, Gottmik!) for the latest installment of Let’s unpack this. The results? A whole lot of ridiculousness.

Here to make it clear, Roxxxy, for example, can’t live without immersing herself in Gabrielle Chanel from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., spraying the perfume everywhere to maintain a feminine, floral scent before (and after) taking the stage. Naturally, the queens also have endless beauty product recommendations, from Il Makiage Flawless Base Foundation to Göt2b Glued Blast Freeze Spray and, duh, every Anastasia Beverly Hills product under the big gay sun.

And because it is drag racing, Hilarious queens like Vanjie carry unexpected products in their bags, like lube (“You can use it for your latex outfit…or, it’s versatile!”), spray glue, and Elmer’s glue sticks , or, if you’re Angeria, a Starbucks breakfast sandwich, because flirting feeds the appetite. For Jorgeous, blush is key: “These bitches look dead, it brings life to your face!” »

As for the above All the stars twists and turns, it’s not hyperbole to say that this season will be unlike any other as the queens are each competing for a $200,000 cash prize (provided by The Palette Fund) which will be awarded to the charity of their choice. Among these charities? The National Black Justice Collective (Angeria); Trans Lifeline (Gottmik); National Alliance on Mental Illness (magnificent); The Trevor Project (Nina West); The Asian American Foundation (Plastic); Miracle of Love (Roy); Anxiety and Depression Association of America (Shannel); and ASPCA (Vanjie).

This All the stars The cherry on top of the season is the list of guest judges: Keke Palmer, Alec Papa, Brothers Osborne, Colton Haynes, Connie Britton, Jeremy Scott, Kristine W, Ruta Lee, Stephanie Hsu and the former In the style cover girl Anitta. So say it with me: Start your engines and may the best drag queen win!

The first two episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 9 will premiere on Paramount+ on May 17, with new episodes available to stream every Friday following. (Yes, the episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Untucked will follow each week.)
