Images of Phil Foden applauding sarcastically and giving a boost to the fans of Manchester United were shared online, after a group of supporters targeted the star of Man City with abusive songs on his mother during the shock on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Foden was criticized in the MANCHER City limp 0-0 impasse with the local Rivaux United, while sections of Old Trafford’s home support narqueted the 24-year-old star by labeling his mother, Claire Rowlands, 44, a “ s ** g ” while he was playing.
The English international, which was withdrawn in the 58th minute of the derby for the substitute in the second half Jeremy Doku, was not inactive while being abused by supporters – with images showing him a series of sarcastic gestures to the culprits in the stands.
In a video shared on the Tiktok social media platform on Sunday, Foden can be seen ironically applaud the supporters and give them a boost while in the Manchester United penalty area, before being heard with challenge to continue.
Pep Guardiola told United Fans that they should be “ashamed” for themselves for having targeted Foden in the aftermath of the tireless draw, while City is considered shocked and disgusted by the number of supporters of Red Devils.
“It’s a lack of class,” said Guardiola later. “But it’s not united, are they people, you know?” We are so exposed, people who are on the screen in world football: managers, owners and football players in particular.

“Honestly, I don’t understand the minds of people involving Phil’s mom. It is a lack of integrity, of class, and they should be ashamed.
The city boss, however, rejected any suggestion that Foden is weak with confidence and supported him to discover the form that helped lead his team to six league titles.
“When the team does not play at the level we had, it seems that not everyone was what it was,” added the Spaniard. “I see passion and smile on her face every day in training and that’s what I want.
“You see the number of players who had four, five, six years old. This year, we are falling and these are all – that’s why we have trouble winning, but the quality is there.
“He won the Premier League in the last games (last year), in the match against West Ham with two goals. Its impact has been incredible and it will be back.
Foden’s mother entered the public’s eyes in January 2024 after the release of her images of her handcuffing and thrown from a Welsh nightclub after hitting a hat from the head of another reveler.
The incident, which occurred in a disco in Bentley in Towyn, in Wales, took place on September 9, 2023, just hours after Foden left the bench to play for England in a qualifier Euro 2024.
The 52 -second clip, shown in court, has shown that Rowlands has aggressively faced police officers who were called to the scene.
Defying the officers, she said: “Keep then, what did I do?” Do not start in front of unless you have proof.

Another friend said, “No, she returns home with me”, while the police replied: “She stays with us for a minute”.
Rowlands was eliminated assault and was sentenced to a fine for his behavior after admitting to the police: “I don’t drink often but when I do it, I make up for the time. I am like an animal.
Before the Manchester derby, Foden opened its doors on what proved to be a difficult season for him and City, with the fifth champion of the Premier League in the Premier League table and 21 points behind the leaders Runaway Liverpool.
Man City is in the running for a single piece of silverware at the end of the quarter – the FA Cup – after unusually early outings of the Carabao Cup and the Champions League.
The player of the year of the PFA players told GQ that he and his teammates were determined to remain “positive”.
“Being in this position, I am not really used to it, so it’s just something you need to take on the chin,” said Foden.
“Unfortunately, this is only one of them. We can always finish loudly and we just have to stay positive and trust everything we have done and stay together.
Foden shares three children, including social media star Ronnie and his daughter True, with his partner Rebecca Cooke, and he wanted to underline the important perspective they bring to his life during the interview.

“I love being a parent,” added Foden. “When things are not doing well, if you haven’t won, you don’t think you’ve played well, it helps go home with your children – just to see them smile and joke to me.
“It gives you the impression that there is more in life than football.”
