Fox News personalities’ panic over the Very Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde’s calls for Donald Trump — to the president’s face, during a sermon earlier this week — received the montage treatment from “The Daily Show.”
Comedy Central on Thursday cut clips of Washington’s Episcopal bishop’s calm, measured appeal to Trump to have “mercy” toward people his policies could harm, along with footage of the hosts of Fox News and talking heads responding to him.
Sean Hannity denounced Budde’s “far-left woke tirade.”
Laura Ingraham claimed Trump was “forced to listen to the ramblings of a madman.”
And others likened Budde’s comments to “rejected propaganda” and called her “arrogant” and “heretic.”
