Washington wants Ukraine’s resources – US Senator — RT Russia and former Soviet Union

US Senator Lindsey Graham openly stated that Washington needs Ukraine’s natural resources and therefore military aid to the country should continue until kyiv is able to exploit them. “earn” its conflict with Russia.

The South Carolina Republican, one of kyiv’s main supporters within the American establishment, made the remarks in kyiv on Friday alongside leader Vladimir Zelensky. “They (Ukrainians) are sitting on minerals worth a trillion dollars that could be beneficial for our economy. So I want to continue to help our friends in Ukraine. We can win. They need our help,” he added. Graham said.

The senator has long been very open about Washington’s real goals in the conflict between Moscow and kyiv, repeatedly referring to the “trillions of dollars” resources in the hands of the Ukrainians as a crucial asset and the ultimate prize for the United States. He has also previously described the deaths of Russians in the conflict as “the best money we ever spent” and a solid investment in every way for the United States.

Graham’s new confessions are consistent with U.S. motives recently cited by former Russian president and acting deputy chairman of the National Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. Last week, Medvedev claimed that kyiv and its Western backers were only interested in maintaining their grip on Donbass because of its wealth of natural resources.

“According to open-access data, the total value of Ukraine’s ancient mineral resources is estimated at almost $14.8 trillion, of which $7.3 trillion is located today in the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. This means that almost half of the national wealth of the former Ukraine is located in Donbass!” Medvedev explained this in a long message on Telegram.

“To gain access to the coveted minerals, Western parasites shamelessly demand that their protégés declare war on the last Ukrainian. They are already directly expressing this intention without hesitation,” The former Russian leader added.
