San Francisco-If Steph Curry, after six physically drained games against the Rockets, was nervous about the prospect of a Win-Or-Ho-Home force test in Houston after the defeat of the Warriors 115-107 in match 6 Friday, he did not show it.
Instead, in his brand dead ends, the future fame of fame stressed that he and his veteran teammates had already been in many high pressure situations.
Match 7 in Houston with the season on the line on Sunday?
Just the Warriors have not treated – and overcome – in the last decade.
“If you do not show up with this appropriate mentality, then we are on vacation,” said Curry after scoring 29 points in match 6 while playing almost the second half. “We want to be the team that packs their suitcases for a week, get on this plane to go to Texas and, hopefully, go to Minnesota just after that.”
The Warriors will play the Timberwolves in the second round if they advance. The series would open in Minneapolis on Tuesday.
“I can tell you that our guys will be excited,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “As I said, I trust that they can do it.”
With Curry on the list, Kerr has the right to be confident regardless of the form of the team in the last two games.
The last time the Warriors played in a match 7, there are two seasons in Sacramento, Curry experienced an epic performance of 50 points while the Warriors prevailed 120-100.
“We are looking at him to do something special every night for 13 years that I have been here,” said Draymond Green. “I don’t think it’s different.”
Curry had his share of other masterpieces of match 7 while making 3-2 in such games.
In a 2016 closing victory on the Thunder in the Western Conference final to crown their own return from Down 3-1, Curry scored 36 points and ended the Kevin era during Oklahoma City. Of course, that year, it was the last time that the Warriors exploded their own 3-1 advance, sadly famous in the 2016 final at the Cleveland riders.
Curry also beat Houston in a match 7.
During the finals of the Western 2018 conference against the Rockets led by James Harden, Curry barely missed a triple-double with 27 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists while the Warriors won the 101-92 route.
Curry has repeatedly pointed out that his Warriors teammates had to be aggressive when they were trying to score against the hard nose, but also recognized that another 50 -point score frenzy could be necessary.
“It was just a big match overall,” said Curry about his memorable match 7 against the Kings. “I hope I can repeat this.”
Now 37 years old, Curry’s health – And the age of some of his teammates – was a subject of constant discussion throughout the series.
Curry’s right thumb has recently been seen more like a golf ball than a finger, and fatigue seemed to undermine part of the efficiency of its shot.
Before lowering 29 points on Friday, Curry scored 17 then 13 points on uncertain efficiency in the two previous games while fighting with reversals.
But he was categorical after the match on Friday that the tired legs will not be a factor against a team of rockets who upset the warriors with an area.
“I feel really good,” said Curry. “You have to work. It’s good. I think it’s weird, because the area does not necessarily draw the best party of you or does not ask for most physically. ”
Curry admitted that the match 7 presents another level of pressure for the players, but thought it had brought out the best in him.
“You understand the issues. If you don’t play your best game or if you can’t find a way to win, you go home,” said Curry. “But it’s also exhilarating because when you do it, it brings you the best.”
“There is no better feeling than to close a series with just the atmosphere of match 7.”
