Warm start to weekend with possible storms Saturday night – NBC Chicago

After a week in the Chicago area marked by summer temperatures and a dose of thunderstorms, this weekend is poised to potentially offer a bit of both.

The mercury is expected to rise a bit more on Saturday, however, with temperatures expected to reach the 70s and partly cloudy skies earlier in the day.

From there, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop into the afternoon, with scattered showers possibly continuing into the evening following late afternoon and early evening thunderstorms.

Dry conditions and partly cloudy skies are then expected on Sunday, with more seasonal temperatures, with highs expected to reach the mid 60s.

Although Sunday will still be breezy, with north-northeast winds blowing between 6 and 15 mph, Chicago-area residents can expect to avoid rain, with a less than 10% chance of precipitation. .

Warmer than seasonable temperatures are expected to continue into next week, with the possibility of thunderstorms in the area on Tuesday as well as high temperatures forecast in the upper 70s.
