Walton Goggins, who is among the main cast additions of HBO’s upcoming third season The White Lotus, remains mum on details of his character or storyline, but he shares his thoughts on the experience.
“It’s all very meta on every level,” Goggins told the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview. “We are guests checking into a hotel and playing the role of guests checking into a hotel. We spend all this time together, whether we like it or not, having breakfast, lunch and dinner. We work where we stay. I’ve been to many of the locations where we’re filming now, the same streets and sandy beaches,” he said. “I have come a long way in my life and have been healed on many levels. I am so grateful for this moment and for the journey I have come.
Besides Goggins, the season 3 cast includes Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Dom Hetrakul, Tayme Thapthimthong, Miloš Biković, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Aimee Lou . Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola as well as the return of Season 1 star Natasha Rothwell.
Set in Thailand, season 3 of The White Lotuss will follow a new group of guests to another White Lotus property.
The first season of The White Lotus, which premiered in July 2021 and was set in Hawaii, received 20 Emmy nominations in 13 categories and won ten trophies, the most wins of any program that year, including Outstanding Series limited or anthology.
The Sicily-set second installment, which premiered in December 2022, garnered 23 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, winning five, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Coolidge and a exceptional casting for a drama series.
