Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić interrupted a visit to the United States Friday after having fallen ill, forcing the cancellation of the scheduled meetings with US officials, the Serbian media reported.
Vučić suddenly became sick on Friday afternoon and, after consulting doctors, made the decision to return to Belgrade, reported the state broadcaster.
The Serbian president had planned to meet several senior officials from the Republican Party and also hoped to see US President Donald Trump in his residence Mar-A-Lago in Florida, Blic Outlet reported. He arrived in Florida on Wednesday and met the former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani and the Serbian entrepreneurs in the United States, according to the BLIC report.
Richard Grenell, American presidential envoy for special missions, wished to be seen in an article on social networks. “Sorry to miss you but I hope everything is fine,” wrote Grenell on X.
