On MSNBC’s “All In” Tuesday, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said the American people stand with Democratic lawmakers in the ongoing government shutdown.
Crockett said, “I just talked to one of my Republican colleagues about 30 minutes ago because I was trying to figure out if we were actually going to go back into session next week as my team tries to plan what happens. But I can tell you that we actually discussed the fact that Marjorie flipped on this because that seems to be all that’s important, this kid hasn’t read the bill and has no idea what is happening. I don’t understand why Georgia keeps sending him. in DC, but this isn’t the first time she’s not sure exactly what damage her party is ushering in. But listen, I’ll take him to see the light any time.
She added: “I think the Democrats, again, are on the right side of history. Every time the Republicans have tried, in one way or another, to get rid of the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare or the marketplace, it has really backfired on them in the most bipartisan way. And now that the American people are paying attention and understanding why this impasse is taking place, I’m pretty confident that the American people are standing alongside Democrats in what we are fighting for in this moment. »
