Vision Pro demos are getting two big changes this month

In-store demonstrations of the Vision Pro are reportedly set to see two big changes this month as Apple looks to up the wow factor and boost the device’s appeal.

The first is that customers will be able to view their own photos on the headset, which Apple hopes will have a greater emotional impact than viewing stock photos…

Mark Gurman reported on this plan in his latest newsletter.

Five months after the Vision Pro launched, Apple is revamping its in-store sales strategy. It’s a key moment for the product, which is just beginning to roll out internationally after a slow start in the US. The company hopes to tweak the in-store experience to give the $3,499 device a boost.

The biggest change is a new feature that lets customers transmit their own photos, videos, and panoramas to a Vision Pro during a demo. They can then view their own media in mixed reality. If you’ve ever done this on a Vision Pro, you know this could help convince some buyers.

The second would be to offer potential buyers more time in the demo, with an option called Go Deeper.

The idea here seems to be to let customers test out what kind of usage suits them best. For example, someone who plans to use Vision Pro for office work might try using it with productivity apps, while someone more interested in entertainment use might watch part of a movie.

Additionally, the company is reportedly responding to comfort complaints by replacing all demos with the Dual Loop — with a headband — instead of the Solo Loop. The policy reportedly went into effect Friday.

We’ve already seen the Dual Loop in action in most (but not all) of the demos photographed during the first phase of the international rollout.
