Giuffre died by suicide in Neergabby, Australia, where she had lived for years, her family told NBC News on April 25. She was 41 years old.
“It is with totally broken hearts that we announce that Virginia died last night on her farm in Australia-Western,” said her family in a statement at the point of sale. “She lost her life because of suicide after being the victim of sexual violence and sex trafficking.”
“Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking,” said the press release. “It was the light that raised so many survivors.”
His family added: “In the end, the abuse of abuse is so heavy that it has become unbearable for Virginia to manage its weight.”
Giuffre alleged that she had been treated by Epstein to her friend Prince Andrew—The young brother of King Charles III– And said that the British Royal had sexually abused her at the age of 17. Andrew denied any reprehensible act.
