Vikingo closes the historical worlds collided with an impressive victory over Gable

The worlds collideThe WWE show organized this afternoon (June 7) in Los Angeles this afternoon with their newly acquired Mexican promotion Lucha Libre AAA, closed an exciting afternoon with El Hijo del Vikingo defending its AAA championship newly won against Chad Gable.

The two men (and the Luchador Alter Ego Aegé Wrestlemania 41. When they finally locked themselves in Kia Forum today, few people would have predicted that a slow and based stretching on a carpet would launch their confrontation of the main event – but that did it.

Not expecting the technical fight of Vikingo usually high -flying, the crowd was first silent. But it was used to excite them more when the faster air movements started. They were certainly impressive once they did. And not just Luchador, but also Olympian!

But these movements and just as impressive did not lead to three counts. In one way or another, Gable Moonsault-Ing Vikingo through a table …

Vikingo has either changed his leg / knee at that time, or did a really convincing job to sell an injury. This did not prevent him from finally sealing a victory with a poisonrana after fighting what looked like an attempted superplex, a meteor and a splash of 630 … then again caught his left leg before the start of the celebration.

We will see if there is an update on Vikingo later tonight or tomorrow. I hope he is doing well or has undergone a minor problem, because WWE continued to push him as one of the biggest stars of their new asset throughout the show. It would be a really unhappy moment for him to be sidelined for any significant stretch.

This would throw a shadow on what was otherwise a successful afternoon for WWE and AAA. The crowd was hot and seemed to enjoy the stars of the two promotions. The English team of advertisement of Corey Graves and Konnan did not have the greatest chemistry, but found a rhythm and a balance to call the action with the education of non -Mexican fans on AAA and Lucha Libre. And the action in the ring was distinct from the usual WWE product, which could be a good sign for the fans of Lucha nervous about what Tko will do with one of the promotions of the two great Lucha.

It was also the last great performance for Gable. Maybe he will play the diabolical foreign heel champion for AAA at some point in the future? Unless Americano beats it on the belt, that is to say.

The victory helped AAA save Kayfabe Face and won the greatest victory in a program where their Luchadors and Luchadoras were 2-3 against WWE wrestlers.
