The former master champion, Vijay Singh, withdrew from the major championship, the tournament organizers announced on Monday morning.
Only three days before the first major of the year, the 62 -year -old man informed the Committees of the Masters competition that he would not do so in Augusta National this week.
Singh, who slipped into the green jacket in 2000, cited an injury as a reasoning so that he can no longer play the prestigious tournament. It is currently not known what injury the legend of golf suffers.
He will have marked the first time since 1994 that the Masters Field will not include the triple major winner.
He now joins Tiger Woods among the 17 former champions who no longer participate in the Masters 2025 field.
Woods, a quintuple champion of the masters, faces another long period of rehabilitation after being operated on to repair his left Achilles last month.

Singh helped Woods slip into his second green jacket, after winning his the year before the second triumph of 49 years.
The news of the Singh withdrawn occurs 25 years after Singh retained Ernie Els and David Duval to emerge victorious on the sacred field of Augusta National at 10 sous.
The biggest names in golf have already taken up on Augusta, Georgia, in front of one of the largest and most famous events on the sport calendar.
The Masters start Thursday with Rory McILroy and the defending champion Scottie Scheffler headlining the field.
