Vijay Sai Reddy leaves YSRCP, shock for Jagan

In a big setback for the already beleaguered YSR Congress party, led by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, his trusted lieutenant and party general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy has resigned from the YSRCP.

In an article on X on Friday evening, Sai Reddy announced his retirement from active politics.

“I will resign my membership of the Rajya Sabha tomorrow, January 25,” he said.

Sai Reddy said that he does not belong to any political party.

“I am not resigning wanting another position, another benefit or money,” he said.

Stating that the decision was entirely his, he said there had been no pressure or influence from anyone.

He said he was indebted to the YS Rajasekhar Reddy family, which has trusted and supported him for four decades and three generations.

“I am eternally grateful to Jagan Garu, who gave me the opportunity to serve twice as a member of the Rajya Sabha, and to Bharathamma garu, who elevated me to such an important position,” he said. he declared, and wished Jagan all the best.

Sai Reddy said that as the parliamentary party leader, Rajya Sabha leader and national general secretary of the party, he had worked diligently and sincerely for the party and the interests of the state.

“I served as a bridge between the state and the centre,” he said.

He extended special thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah who supported him and gave him immense strength and recognition in Telugu states for almost nine years .

The outgoing Rajya Sabha member said he had political differences with the Telugu Desam Party but had no personal differences with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his family.

“I also share a long-standing friendship with Pawan Kalyan garu,” he said.

Stating that he would make farming his livelihood, which he said was his future.

“I express my sincere gratitude to the people of my state, my friends, colleagues and party members who have supported me throughout my long political journey. I thank each and every one of you by name,” said Sai Reddy.

Sources said Sai Reddy might keep a low profile for some time, but he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party sooner or later. He has been lobbying Delhi bosses for some time now.

The BJP, which is currently functioning as a coalition government at the Centre, is facing a shortage of strong leaders and is reportedly looking for powerful figures like Vijaya Sai Reddy, known for his eloquence, political maturity and senior experience. chief.

Sai Reddy’s resignation will, however, come as a big blow to the YSRCP.

Analysts say the party would find it difficult to replace a leader like Sai Reddy, who has been the party’s master strategist and lobbyist.
