Detectives have identified a 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed while he and a group of friends were in a parking lot in San Marcos last week.
Isaac Shekhayem of San Marcos was shot in the upper torso around 11:30 p.m. May 15 on Los Vallecitos Boulevard near Bingham Drive, homicide Lt. Michael Krugh said Tuesday.
Investigators said someone approached Shekhayem and his two friends – a teenager and a young adult – and got out of the vehicle. The gunman opened fire on the boys from about 40 yards away, Krugh said.
Shekhayem’s companions took him to the hospital, where he died.
Krugh said there is no information on the shooter and the motive and circumstances are under investigation.
