BREVARD COUNTY, Florida. – For many, the best part of reaching a milestone is treating yourself to a nice hot meal.
I mean, this is how billionaire Jeff Bezos chose to celebrate inaugural launch of his company’s rocket on Thursday.
Bezos and members of his Blue Origin team visited Country cuisine dinner in Port St. John later that afternoon – around 1 p.m., the person serving at her table, Pam Pollock told News 6.

Pollock said she had worked on and off in the restaurant industry for 20 years and had never served a high-profile guest before Bezos’ visit.
He ordered pancakes, over-medium eggs and a sausage patty, she said.
“He was very kind and courteous, like none of our wonderful customers. The only difference maybe was the security entourage he had with him,” Pollock told News 6.
She didn’t reveal how much the world’s second-richest person tipped her, only mentioning that he was very generous.
Country Cookin Diner is owned by Jim Broome, Debby Broome and Amanda McFarland – and they have three locations on the Space Coast. The place where Bezos dined is the second one they opened in 2009, the first was in Cocoa in 2021, they said.
The owners said other high-profile visitors to their restaurants over the years include former Gov. Charlie Crist, Sen. Rick Scott and Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey.
“For him to have selected Country Cookin is an honor. It also means a lot that in addition to his businesses employing so many people here in Brevard, he also stopped to support a local business in the community. We would like to believe that he found our restaurant through a recommendation from one of our many loyal customers,” the restaurant’s owners said in a statement to News 6.
