The Vatican has released a new document on human dignity in which it says surrogacy, gender theory and abortion are among “grave threats” to the human condition.
The document, titled “Infinite Dignity,” claims that the concept itself originated in the love of the creator “who imprinted the indelible traits of his image on every person.”
It details what the Vatican considers serious violations of dignity. Poverty, war and migrant abuse top the list.
But he says the notion can be misused to justify what he calls an “arbitrary proliferation of new rights.”
The document also describes what some consider legal “rights” as violations: abortion, surrogacy and assisted suicide.
And the Vatican considers gender theory and sex reassignment to be serious violations of human dignity, asserting that “creation must be received as a gift.”
