Vasle (BCE) sees rates much closer to 3% at the end of the year

European Central Bank policy chief Bostjan Vasle, governor of the central bank of Slovenia, spoke to Reuters on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

Said

  • “We should be much closer to 3% towards the end of the year if everything goes as planned”
  • however, warned that he was seeing “worrying developments in the Middle East”
