Vancouver cannucks call Adam Fote 22nd head coach in the history of the franchise

Vancouver, bc – The director general of Vancouver Canucks, Patrik Allvin, announced today that the team had hired Adam Foote as a chief coach of the history of the franchise.

“Adam is a strong leader, a good teacher and a person who knows what it takes to build a great culture and a winning attitude,” said Allvin. “His past experiences on the ice have resulted in a style of coaching that corresponds to the objectives and the vision of our organization. He has worked extremely hard in recent years, winning the respect and confidence of our player for his strong communication and his honest opinion. To our group on the way we want to compete, practice and play hockey.

Foote was hired as deputy coach for Vancouver Canucks on January 22, 2023. He has spent the last two seasons working with team defenders, helping players such as Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek have career seasons, strengthening the team’s penalty to kill and develop a cohesive unit in the back.

Fote began her coach career in 2011.12 with the Colorado avalanche as a development consultant and defensive coach, spending four seasons in this role. He was also Director of Development of Team Canada Players at the 2017 Spengler Cup, winning a gold medal. Before his arrival in Vancouver, Fote spent two seasons as a chief coach of the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League, compiling a record of 48-49-12.

Before his coach career, the Toronto, on the native spent parts of 19 seasons in the NHL after being selected by the Nordiques du Québec in the second round, 22nd in total, during the NHL entrance draft in 1989. He patinated in 1154 career games, displaying 308 points (66-242-308), 1534 minutes of penalty and a note +999. Foote also appeared in 170 series of STANLEY Cup playoff games in career, recording 42 points (7-35-42) and 298 minutes of penalty, capturing the Stanley Cup with the Colorado avalanche in 1996 and 2001. International, he was appointed for Team Canada for the Olympics World Olympics of 1998, 2002 and 2006, 2002 and 2006 as well as the 1996 and the 2004 World Cup from 1996 and 2004.
