Valve is rumored to be developing a third-person shooter called “Deadlock,” which mixes steampunk and fantasy.

Rumor has it that Valve has been testing a title that has been in the works since 2018, and it’s called Dead end.

That’s according to various people involved in the playtest who leaked footage of the game online.

Much of this has been verified by Valve journalist Tyler McVicker (via Eurogamer), who states that a closed alpha game test is underway with “hundreds” of people playing it.

YouTubers involved in the competitive gaming industry were also reportedly invited to the playtest.

More information about the game was confirmed by content creator Gabe Follower, who provided more details about Deadlock and said that it is a “competitive third-person shooter based on heroes” with “6v6 battles on a large map with four lanes with usable abilities”. and objects. It features tower defense mechanics, a setting that mixes fantasy and steampunk, and characters include magicians, “strange creatures and robots”. It was also said that, similar to Bioshock Infinite, the game allowed fast travel using floating rails.

“Basically, (it’s) interesting, fast-paced gameplay for ADHD. Combination of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, Orcs Must Die,” said Gabe Follower, who further stated that the hero designs seem to be inspired by Dota. He also confirmed that one of the heroes was named Gray Talon.

As Valve has yet to make an announcement, it’s best to keep this under rumor until the company decides to reveal the game – despite the legitimacy of the footage (leaked by people who don’t care to break the NDA).

Valve could announce the game during Summer Game Fest which kicks off on June 7 with the annual show hosted by Geoff Keighley. We will have to watch and find out.
