The actor of Hollywood Val Kilmer, known for his roles in some of the greatest films of the 1980s and 90s, including Top Gun and Batman Forever, died at the age of 65.
He also played in The Doors in 1991 – playing the leader of the legendary Jim Morrison group – plus the Western tombstone and the criminal drama Heat.
Kilmer died on Tuesday in pneumonia in Los Angeles, said his daughter Mercedes. She said that her father had received a diagnosis of throat cancer in 2014 but that he had recovered later.
Tracheotomy surgery affected his voice and reduced his acting career, but he returned to the screen to resume his role as a fighter pilot Iceman alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun of 2022: Maverick.

In 2021, Kilmer published a documentary chronizing the ups and downs of his life and his career. Val, who made his debut at the Cannes Film FestivalHas 40 years of home records, which speaks to it with post-firm surgery of the vocal box.
Born Val Edward Kilmer on December 31, 1959, Kilmer grew up in a middle -class family in Los Angeles.
His parents were Christian scientists, a movement at which kilmer would adhere to the rest of his life.
At 17, he became the biggest student of the time to register for the Julliard School, in New York, one of the most prestigious theater conservatories in the world.
Kilmer had two children with her ex-wife, actress Joanne Whalley.
