  • Six starters will make their international debuts today: Patrick Agyemang, Max Arfsten, George Campbell, Caden Clark, Brian Gutiérrez and Matko Miljevic.
  • The starting lineup has an average age of 23 years and 227 days and is the youngest roster so far under USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Eight of the 11 are 23 or younger: Arfsten, Campbell, Milijevic and Schulte (23); Clark, Gutiérrez and McGlynn (21 years old); Cremaschi (19).
  • The roster also averages five selections.
  • Ten of the starting eleven play in Major League Soccer, with two players each coming from CF Montreal and the Columbus Crew, while Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire, FC Cincinnati, FC Dallas, Inter Miami and Union from Philadelphia are also represented.
  • Miami-born midfielder Matko Miljevic recently signed for Argentina’s Huracán, making him the first player to earn a USMNT cap while under contract with a club in that country.
  • The youngest player in the squad, Inter Miami midfielder Benja Cremaschi, 19, today won his second cap and his first international start in his home stadium. Cremaschi made his USMNT debut as a substitute in the 4–0 victory over Oman on September 12, 2023 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
  • Miles Robinson (31 caps) is the most experienced player on the squad and is captain of the USMNT for the second time. He previously wore the armband in last year’s friendly against Slovenia.
  • Veteran World Cup defender Shaq Moore earns his first start since last year’s game against Slovenia and earns his 20th career cap, making him eligible for the National Soccer Hall of Fame upon his retirement.
  • Almost a year after his debut, midfielder Jack McGlynn also won his first start in his second career selection.
  • McGlynn’s compatriot Patrick Schulte, a veteran of the 2024 Olympics, also made his international debut this time last year, and the goalkeeper will look for his first career victory for the USMNT this afternoon.
  • Nine starters are products of the US Soccer Development Academy, including five developed by MLS clubs: Max Arfsten (Cal Odyssey), George Campbell (Atlanta United), Caden Clark (Minnesota Thunder, Barca Residency Academy), Benja Cremaschi ( Weston FC, Inter Miami), Brian Gutiérrez (Chicago Fire), Jack McGlynn (BW Gottschee, Philadelphia Union), Shaq Moore (FC Dallas), Miles Robinson (FC Boston Bolts), Patrick Schulte (FC Saint Louis).
  • If Tim Ream comes off the bench, it would mark the veteran defender’s first January cap since January 22, 2011 against Chile.
  • Meanwhile, 2022 World Cup veteran Walker Zimmerman could make his first appearance since June 18, 2023 against Canada in the Concacaf Nations League final.
  • Three more replacements could make their USMNT debut today: Emeka Eneli, Matt Freese and Indiana Vassilev.
  • The United States is 3W-1D-2D in six all-time meetings with Venezuela.
