Tomorrow, at 10 a.m., Pacific time, Apple will unveil the new generation versions of its operating systems, including iOS 19 (which should now be named iOS 26) for iPhone. The flagship change of the new iPhone software will be a spectacular visual overhaul, that the company will also deploy all its other operating systems for a new coherent look on each Apple device.
In the last edition of Mark Gurman’s power on the newsletterIt specifically refers that Apple will show new “liquid glass” user interface elements. This means that users can expect the operating system to use translucent glass materials and highlights of visual flair.
Users can expect to see new reflective and glassy materials on all standard user interface controls, such as buttons, toolbars and tab bars.
There were also some indications that the application icons of the home screen will be redesigned with a new rounder shape, and the borders of the icon will also have an appearance of shiny reflections.
The other Apple platforms such as MacOS, Watchos, iPados and Tvos will also be invigorated with new liquid glass user interface elements and updated icon sets. The redesign will help bring more consistency to Apple’s software experience on all your devices, even if global user interface arrangements, navigation and interactions will always be adapted to each specific shape factor.
The glass themes will also be very synergistic with the upcoming iPhone hardware redesign, such as the Rumor model of 2027 With an entirely screen design with curved edges and a minimum screen scope.
