Two senior security managers of the American agency for international development were put on administrative leave on Saturday evening after refusing to authorize those responsible for the Elon Musk Government Ministry to access the systems of the Agency, even after Doge’s staff threatened to call the police, several familiar sources said to CNN.
The staff of the office created by MUSC attempted physically to access the USAID headquarters in Washington, DC, and was arrested.
The Doge staff asked to be let in and threatened to call us the marshals to be allowed to access, two of the sources said.
Three of the sources said that DOGE staff wanted to access security systems and staff files. Two of these sources said they also wanted access to classified information.
USAID’s security director John Voorhees, and his assistant are the last civil servants who were on leave in the midst of the fears that the agency is intentionally dismantled by the Trump administration. USAID provided assistance to around 130 countries during the year 2023.
CNN contacted the White House and USAID to comment.
