The NFL has paved the way for active players to participate in the 2028 Olympic Games. The real game has not yet started.
The league limits participation in the flag football tournament to be held in three years to a player per franchise, the team must be chosen and prepared to play. This task belongs to the American director organ for the international football competition: American football.
“On behalf of USA Football, I would like to thank the NFL clubs for having approved the resolution allowing the NFL players to participate in the 2028 summer games in Los Angeles during the beginnings of Flag Football on the Olympic scene,” announced that the resolution of the USA football CEO and active players has been adopted. “USA Football had in -depth discussions with the NFL on the potential of players’ participation, and we are delighted to see these efforts become a reality.
“As an organ national director of American football, we have a huge responsibility in front of us – selecting, training and leading the American and American male and women’s teams for the 28.
“We are fortunate to have a talent swimming pool which already offers eminent flag football stars that have helped USA Football to establish a golden medal standard in international competition. Including NFL players only strengthen our capacity to build the best possible American male team possible and to achieve our ultimate goal for La28: to bring two gold medals back into football flag.
“We will continue to develop our high performance plan which guides the creation of our national teams. We look forward to working with the NFL on the specific opportunities that NFL players can use to present their skills and become eligible for the selection of the United States. ”
The league not only enabled the participation of the Olympic flag football tournament, but also the submission to “a test or qualification process”. It remains to be seen what it will be, which will be chosen, if the Establi Football Players will have a fair chance of protecting their lawn, and if a sufficient and effective training process will be developed to prepare the NFL players, given the requirements of their main football responsibilities.
