The Republicans of the Chamber adopted a measure Thursday which would repeal the government’s decision to place the cast iron of California, a fish the size of a finger, on the list of endangered species.
The members of the Chamber adopted the resolution, introduced by the Californian representative Doug Lamalfa (D-Richvale), during a 216-195 vote which followed the lines of the party. The resolution now goes to the Senate under the control of the Republican.

The resolution was condemned by the Democrats, who declared that the resolution was against science and the years of study by federal fauna officials.
“They transform a small fish into a very large scapegoat, claiming that it will somehow provide real support for farmers,” said representative Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael).
“The long -term population has decreased by more than 99% since the 1980s,” said Huffman. “The US Fish and Wildlife Service followed the law, data and science, as is the intention congress.”
THE resolution would repeal the decision in 2024 of the Fish and Wildlife Service under the provisions of 1996 Congressal Review ActThis allows Congress to examine and disapprove of the rules adopted by agencies in certain circumstances.
The measure will then be examined by the Senate, where the opponents said that they feared that it could also be adopted. If it is approved and signed by President Trump, it would be the first action of the Congress to use his authority under the 1996 law to go beyond the protections of a species under the Disappearance Species Act.
