US Concarneau takes stock of the budget, the transfer window and the stadium

-
1. The distribution of home matches
Between Le Moustoir in Lorient, Roudourou in Guingamp and Francis Le-Blé in Brest, we now know precisely in which arena US Concarneau will play for its 19 relocated home games. Two matches are scheduled at Guingamp, eight at Lorient and nine at Brest, including a US Concarneau – EA -Guingamp (28th day on March 9, 2024) already classified as high risk due to the enmity between Brest and Guingamp supporters.
With a budget currently set at €6.5 million, US Concarneau should be the little thumb of Ligue 2 in this area. A budget that will be impacted by the cost of relocated matches between the rental of the enclosure to the cities concerned and the costs reimbursed (lawn, services) to the resident clubs. “This cost has not yet been established. We will communicate in 15 days, ”says President Jacques Piriou who wanted to thank the cities, the clubs and the LFP for the help given to the promoted South Finistère. “Without them, we would have stayed on the sidelines. »
3. Ten expected players
To complete his workforce, Stéphane Le Migan hopes to recruit eight players for the resumption of the championship on August 5 and ten at the end of the transfer window on August 31, knowing that departures are always possible.
In detail, the US Concarneau coach is looking for his starting goalkeeper who could be Benoît Costil, three defenders (a central, a right side and a left side), one or two midfielders depending on the case Gaoussou Traoré as well as four or five offensive players.
“The wish is to bring added value with more seasoned players in certain positions”, underlines Stéphane Le Mignan, who is expecting four recruits in the coming days.
4. Costil still in the waiting room
Targeted to be the titular goalkeeper, Benoit Costil, who resides in Morbihan, is not yet a US Concarneau player. “He is interested in the US Concarneau project, but we are still in discussion with the player and his agent. Will it go to the end? In any case, we will need a fairly quick response to a position that is not neutral, ”explains Stéphane Le Mignan.
5. The Traoré case
Under contract for the coming season, midfielder Gaoussou Traoré has still not shown up for training. “I had the player tell us to turn to his representative, but we can’t get his representative who apparently wants Gaoussou not to stay in Concarneau,” explains Stéphane Le Mignan.
6. Play in Ligue 2 at Guy-Piriou
The goal of the promoted Finistère will obviously be to stay in Ligue 2. What Stéphane Le Migan explained, starting with a joke: “Unlike the National where there are always six runs, there are only four in Ligue 2. But hey, we’re not going to put pressure on ourselves from July 5. We leave with less resources than others, but this objective of maintaining does not scare us. And we have a wish with the president, to play a Ligue 2 match at Guy-Piriou. »
In other words, to be maintained in order to be able to attack the 2024-25 season in Ligue 2 in a Concarnian enclosure whose work would be completed and which would be up to standard.
