US calls for more aid for drought-stricken East Africa

The Biden administration has pressed U.S. allies and rivals to contribute more funds to feed the millions starving by East Africa’s historic drought.

During a visit to an emergency feeding center in Kenya’s arid north on Saturday, the administrator of the US Agency for International Development Samantha Power called on China, the Gulf States and Europe to increase donations to the United Nations and other agencies to fight the drought.
