This track is known for dry and smooth desert conditions, but during the day of yesterday’s press and this morning’s track promenade, it looked soft and sticky. It will not last forever, but it could be a little better than expected during the night show. This track has long tracks and many of 180 laps, which means the opportunity to go big in the rhythm.
Garrett Marchbanks told us that a week of therapy has helped make his dislocated shoulder feels better, and he simply couldn’t sit on the sofa another weekend, so he asked the team if he could roll on Thursday. He did it and he felt good so he sank. He thinks that shorter races could be better for his shoulder, which could be tired as the towers take place.
Honda HRC’s director of the Honda HRCSTROM team also said Jo Shimoda visited Doc G’s office all week and witnessed a big drop in swelling in his broken fingers. He still can’t drive during the week, but the injury feels much better.
Malcolm Stewart improves better and better after taking a big blow in his Anaheim 1 heat race, he is convinced that he will soon be in the top five. Aaron Plessserger has had terrible results in the past two weeks, but he says he thinks, and in fact, this week is as good as ever, he said. Cooper Webb spent the week to test on the Yamaha test track in California to try to find a better configuration for dry and smooth tracks. He knows that he has had trouble here in the past but must solve this problem. He says it is the first time that he has brought real bike changes in almost a year.
